Research for transformation
Research provides the fundament for societal development. At the University of Copenhagen there are many research groups deeply involved in finding ways to transform our society to a more sustainable trajectory. In the overview below, examples of such research are presented against the six entry points for transformation and the four key levers to accelerate these that were identified in the Global Sustainable Development Report from 2019.
The GSDR identifies four critical “levers” that are required to bring about transformation:
The University of Copenhagen’s research portfolio is diverse and encompasses all of these levers. Thus, the UCPH’s researchers are uniquely placed in terms of being able to contribute to achieving sustainable development of society.
