This international and solutions orientated congress invited experts across disciplines to break down academic barriers and jumpstart a broader collaboration on sustainable solutions relevant for society. Also targeting businesses and policy makers, the congress provided a platform for science-policy interface relevant for global challenges.

Future Earth

Future Earth is the global research platform providing knowledge and support to accelerate our transformations to a sustainable world. It was launched in June 2012 at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20).

The congress is collaborating with Future Earth on communicating research topics related to global challenges.

3GF

The Global Green Growth Forum (3GF) convenes governments, businesses, investors and international organisations to act together for inclusive green growth. It takes place on October 20-21. 

The congress is placed back-to-back with 3GF to maximize synergy on sustainable solutions between the scientific, political and business oriented community.

Fødevarebanken

fødevareBanken is a non-political, volunteer based association that receives surplus food from food producers, farmers and wholesalers and distributes it to organisations working with socially vulnerable peo ple. 

The congress is collaborating with fødevareBanken to minimise food waste.

Copenhagen competition 2014

During the IARU Congress, students from all over the world simulated real multilateral negotiations in the Copenhagen Competition 2014. Stretching over 3 days, the competition revolved around the Sustainable Energy Trade Agreement (SETA).
